Could Fiat Create A Jeep Compass Based Freemont?

PHOTO GALLERYThanks to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Fiat can borrow various part and even entire cars from brands such as Jeep.The Fiat Toro and Jeep Compass , for example, share the same platform even though one is an SUV and the other a pickup truck.A couple of months ago , rendering artist Theophilus Chin dreamt up a Jeep Compass-based pickup and now has done a full 180, imagining a Fiat Toro-based SUV, potentially acting as the next-generation Freemont.While there is no indication that FCA is pondering the possibility of creating a larger SUV based around the Jeep Compass, it wouldn't be a hard thing to do.After all, these renderings show that much of the Toro pickup's design could be carried across to an SUV alternative.The real question would be whether Fiat thinks it worth ditching the current Dodge Journey-based Freemont in favor of one based around the Jeep Compass.To our eyes, the boxy shape of the existing Freemont is getting old and is in need of a dramatic overhaul.
