- Jeep will add three new models by 2020.While we anticipated both the Wrangler pickup and this year's confirmation that a new Grand Wagoneer is coming, Jeep CEO Mike Manley confirmed to us that the Grand Wagoneer will be longer and ride on a longer wheelbase than the Wagoneer, making it effectively two models.Both large SUVs are based in part on the Ram truck's body-on-frame chassis—and together they will cover the $60,000-to-$100,000 bracket.

- Fiat Chrysler will be reviving its Jeep Grand Wagoneer as a body-on-frame SUV despite having claimed for two years that it would be a unibody model, according to Automotive News.Sergio Marchionne, CEO of FCA, affirmed that the company is aiming to produce a Wagoneer and a Grand Wagoneer as body-on-frame vehicles.The retooled Warren Truck Assembly plant, currently used to build the Ram 1500, will be used to produce these new SUVs.

- Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has announced it will invest $US1b ($A1.4b) into its US-based manufacturing facilities, to accommodate Jeep's recently-announced, re-born Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, as well as a long-suspected pick-up from the four-wheel drive brand.The investment will also help to cover the withdrawal of the Ram large truck from its manufacturing plant in Mexico, which is suspected to be related to threats from US President-elect Donald Trump and a proposed 35 per cent tariff on Mexican-built cars.The investment will swell capacity at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant in Michigan, where not only the Dodge Ram will be located, but the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer SUVs will also be built.
