referring to A Garda is being treated in infirmary after being participate in a shock & run incident at a city centre checkpoint this morning. The incident happened shortly before 11am, while the male Garda was struck at the checkpoint at the junction of Baggot Street & Waterloo Road. The occupants of the car then fled the scene, & their suspected car was found abandoned on Waterloo Road a short time later. In a statement, a Garda spokesman said: "A male Garda member is being treated in infirmary next a collision by a car on Baggot St. shortly before 11am. "The Jeep/sport utility car fail to stop & crashed on Waterloo Road.
