State police pursue stolen JeepSTRATFORD — State police troopers' pursuit of a stolen red Jeep Cherokee led then into the town early Sunday evening. According to dispatch reports, troopers were pursuing the Jeep on the Merritt Parkway Northbound and, shortly after 7 p.m., left the highway at exit 53 while in pursuit. Information will be updated when available. The pursuit is ongoing.

Police say the driver, a woman, lost control of the Jeep and careened onto the property of Pastor Christopher Bennett. Clearwater police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue came to the home where a Jeep slammed into a parked van and then went through the wall of one of the home's bedrooms. "I thank God for it and think for a moment I could have been gone," Pastor Bennett said.
