With all the iPhone 7 chatter and related aux cord funerals going down this week, it's easy to forget that other phones even exist.Samsung, for example, briefly made headlines this month with a worldwide recall due to possibly exploding Galaxy Note 7 phones just days ahead of Apple's competition-halting keynote event.Well, one Florida man found out the hard way that this whole exploding Galaxy Note 7 thing is no joke.

Upon announcing the huge recall of its Galaxy Note 7 smartphone, Samsung reported that there are currently no known injuries due to the exploding battery risk that led to sales being halted worldwide.But it's starting to sound like there've been some very close calls.In just the last couple days, news reports have covered two separate incidents — both massive blazes that led to significant destruction.
