Chrysler Dealership Blames Anton Yelchin for His Own Death

The Chrysler dealership where Anton Yelchin bought the car that killed him refuses to be held responsible for his death.The Valencia, CA dealership, which is among those sued by the late star's parents, has filed its response to the wrongful death lawsuit brought by the Yelchins.In the documents, according to TMZ, the company blames Yelchin for the fatal accident that happened to himself back in June as they accuse him of damaging the Jeep Grand Cherokee by making some changes to it.

Valencia CJD has responded to the wrongful death suit filed by Anton Yelchin's parents against the company, Jeep manufacturer FCA US and others.Anton died at the age of 27 when his car rolled down his drive way and pinned him to a gate."Defendant alleges the injuries and damages, if any, or which the plaintiffs complain were caused and/or contributed to by the negligence of plaintiffs' decedent which bars any recovery herein or the alleged damages of plaintiffs, in any, are reduced according to law," the countersuit filed read (via The Wrap).

Neilson Barnard, Getty ImagesA Valencia, California, Chrysler dealership has requested a lawsuit brought against them by the parents of the late actor Anton Yelchin be dismissed.The dealership argues that Anton — who died in a freak accident earlier this year, after being pinned against a brick mailbox and security fence by his Jeep Grand Cherokee — is at fault for his death, which they allege was the result of his own "misuse, misapplication, or damage" of the vehicle, according to TMZ.Chrysler also claims the Star Trek actor's parents didn't keep the car in the same condition it was at the time of their son's death, which could tamper any evidence that might lend credence to their wrongful death suit.

The local auto dealership where Anton Yelchin purchased the Jeep Grand Cherokee that killed him has denied any liability in the accident.After Yelchin's 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee killed him by crushing him against a gate outside his home in June, his parents, Irina and Victor Yelchin, filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Fiat Chrysler, ZF North America and AutoNation, citing "significant defects" in the model.AutoNation was removed from the lawsuit, as it didn't own the dealership at the time.
