Fiat Chrysler Automobiles to start production of Jeep Compass in India by mid 2017

The latest iteration of the compass was unveiled by the American SUV manufacturer a few weeks back promising a local production in order to keep the prices in check.Jeep made its official debut in India last month with two of its iconic models, the Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler unlimited.The prices of both these cars were quite steep and hence the automaker faced a significant criticism from the Indian audiences.

Made-in-India Jeep Compass likely to be priced under Rs 25 lakh; production to start mid-2017

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles launched the iconic Jeep brand in India on August 1.Since then, the company has launched Wrangler and Grand Cherokee variants at a more than expected price range, raising many eyebrows on the possibility of their success.Fiat quickly added that it will launch the Made in India Jeep products at an affordable price range and the emerging reports indicate that Jeep's Made in India product is the Compass and it will be priced below Rs 25 lakh.

Can the 2017 Jeep Compass finally make it in the UK?

It's no secret that Jeep's Compass didn't really set the average British motorist's trousers alight.It was roomy and it looked decent enough, but it was lacking in both perceived quality and driver engagement.So let's hope that this new model puts the Compass onto a better heading when it goes on sale in the UK in the latter part of 2017.
