2016 Dodge Dart, Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee recalled for fuel leaks, wiper woes

This morning, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles issued two recalls that affect nearly 89,000 vehicles from the 2016 model year.The vast majority of those vehicles are registered in the U.S.RECALL #1: 2016 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand CherokeeUNITS AFFECTED: 30,183 vehicles registered in the U.S., 2,534 in Canada, 489 in Mexico, and 1,427 registered elsewhere (total: 34,633)This recall stems from a problem with the 3.6-liter, V6 engines used in some of these SUVs.According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the engine's fuel rail crossover tube may have been damaged during the assembly process.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling some units of the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango over an issue that could cause a fuel leak and result in a fire.The defect: during the assembly of the engine, the fuel rail crossover tube may have been damaged, which, over time, may result in a fuel leak.The hazards: a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source, can increase the risk of a fire.
