CARS.COMVehicles Affected: Approximately 30,000 model-year 2016 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs manufactured between Feb. 10 and April 28, 2016, and equipped with a 3.6-liter engine built at the Saltillo Engine Plant in MexicoThe Problem: During engine assembly, the fuel rail crossover tube may have been damaged and, over time, may result in a fuel leak, which in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.Dodge and Jeep manufacturer Fiat Chrysler Automobiles said in a statement that it is unaware of any related injuries, accidents, customer complaints or warranty claims related to this issue.The Fix: Dealers will inspect the engine assembly for damage to the fuel rail crossover tube and replace it, as necessary, for free.

This morning, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles issued two recalls that affect nearly 89,000 vehicles from the 2016 model year.The vast majority of those vehicles are registered in the U.S.RECALL #1: 2016 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand CherokeeUNITS AFFECTED: 30,183 vehicles registered in the U.S., 2,534 in Canada, 489 in Mexico, and 1,427 registered elsewhere (total: 34,633)This recall stems from a problem with the 3.6-liter, V6 engines used in some of these SUVs.According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the engine's fuel rail crossover tube may have been damaged during the assembly process.

Jeep has confirmed the inbound Hellcat-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee will indeed be called the Grand Cherokee 'Trackhawk' and will arrive at the 2016 New York Auto Show in April 2018.Earlier this year Jeep brand boss Mike Manley revealed a Grand Cherokee with the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 engine from the Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcat twins was in the works, but he didn't confirm the 'Trackhawk' name at the time.Speaking to The Detroit News on the floor of the Los Angeles Auto Show this week, Manley not only confirmed the Trackhawk's name and debut date, but revealed it would arrive in U.S. Jeep showrooms by the third-quarter of 2017.
